Service of process in Grenada

Grenada is compact and workable, and the instructions divide fairly predictably: personal and family matters, commercial and corporate service in St George’s, university-related matters around Grand Anse, and the occasional file that turns out to be on Carriacou — a separate island.

One island, then two more

Grenada itself is straightforward. The thing to check before you instruct is which island the address is on.

Carriacou and Petite Martinique are part of the state but they are separate islands, reached by ferry or light aircraft. An attempt on Carriacou is a day, and Petite Martinique adds another crossing on top. That is perfectly doable — we simply need to know in advance so the travel is quoted once rather than appearing later.

On the main island, addresses outside St George’s are commonly a village and a landmark rather than a number, which is normal and usable locally. Around Grand Anse the addresses are often short-term student or contractor lets that turn over fast, so if your address came from an enrolment record or a contract rather than recent contact, let us verify it before we attempt.

For corporate service, send the exact registered name and the registration number if you have it, and tell us whether the document is for the entity or for a named officer, and in what capacity. That single detail prevents most later challenges.

Timing, and what comes back to you

St George’s and the main island are usually days. Carriacou and Petite Martinique depend on the ferry or flight and the weather, and we give you a realistic date before you commit.

  • A court-ready Affidavit or Certificate of Service, sworn locally
  • A record of every attempt — date, time, address and who was spoken to
  • A description of the person served and the circumstances of the handover
  • Photographs of the location where lawful and practical
  • Progress updates by email or WhatsApp while the matter is live
  • A reasoned report if service cannot be effected, with what we established about the true address
  • A single point of contact who knows your file, start to finish

Why instruct us in Grenada

Because we check which island you are actually dealing with, and we verify a fast-turning Grand Anse address before attempting it rather than after.

And because you get one point of contact, a fee agreed in writing beforehand, and an affidavit drawn to be filed.

English throughout, so nothing needs translating. Ask us about the correct service route before you send and we will confirm the appropriate method for your document rather than assume one.
